Future Children
a documentary on racial micro-aggression
My people are labeled African, African American, Black, Colored, Ebony, Ethnic, Mixed, Mulatto, Negro, Negroid, and probably a dozen other names.
In the United States, race is viewed as one group being superior and another group inferior. Some people view race as a political or social construct. You can find examples of this in the literature, art, motion pictures, and the geographic delineations of American cities.
People don’t want to talk about race and they certainly don’t want to be called racist. There’s an elephant in the room and its name is racism.
I was actually trying to write an article on bi-racial children. Starting with an overview and working my way towards inter-racial couples and the societal challenges faced by their kids.
Then I saw this 5-minute documentary.
Future Children

That’s when I realized how stupid Racism really is. Whether we call it a construct of one fashion or another, it doesn’t really matter. We have put so much energy into this stupidity that our beliefs and ideology are so meshed with it that we will never see the elephant in the room.
This short documentary goes a long way towards opening our eyes to see how ridiculous we have become since the founding of this nation.
If it takes our youth to help us identify what is wrong with our cultures in America, then we better listen to them. Starting with this documentary.
