Starting small with a global vision is the right formula if you want to dominate the marketplace. I spoke with a client recently who thought 80% market share was too much and almost greedy. I disagree because if you’re providing the best possible value to your market, why would you want anything less than 100% market share? If you’re the best carpenter in town, why would you want others to be giving your potential clients inferior goods? After David killed Goliath, he went for the philistine army as well. Even before he attacked Goliath he told him that he’d kill his brothers as well. I say “Go for Goliath”. Offer the most value to the greatest number of people. That’s the kind of business that changes the world for the better.
