Hosting A WordPress Website “Free” For Beginners 2020 | In 5 Minutes
I’ve always wanted to deploy a WordPress website or template i just purchased to a domain & hosting provider and preview the Web App via a mobile to see the beauty of it. Here it is, in 5 Minutes.
During my days of Web Development, i have come across many domain & hosting providers such as GoDaddy, HostGator etc. One caught my eye and that is 000webhost. This domain & hosting provider allows one free WordPress website with a free subdomain which includes 000webhost as a domain. Not ideal for commercial use but for mini-projects, course assignments, research & development. Lets get started.
1. Search For 000webhost via a Search Engine
2. Go to the Sign In page
3. Sign Up if you are new to 000webhost
4. Create a new Website at 000webhost.com
Website Name — Optional
Password — Mandatory (Remember this or note down somewhere, as 000webhost uses this as the verification key for other facilities)
5. Check if the website domain & hosting is live, up and running
Click on the link to preview the website 000webhost has created for you. By now the domain & hosting should be live, up & running.
As you can see the website is now accessible using the URL
<WEBSITE_NAME>.000webhostapp.com
In my case it is https://sightless-lightning.000webhostapp.com/
6. Starting with the WordPress setup in Cpanel
Important — Keep note of the Admin username and Admin password as you will be needing it to log in to the WordPress Portal/CMS.
7. Log in to WordPress
Log in using the credentials given in Step 6. In my case it will be:-
Admin username: admin
Admin password: Erc@9<h=A&wirU&d
This is the ultimate CMS you get with WordPress. All you have to do is to tweak the settings here and there, add some style and your Website is ready for even commercial use.
6. WordPress Website is now live, up & running!
Finally! Now that we have the domain & hosting live, up & running, a new WordPress Setup has been introduced, you are free to access this WordPress website from anywhere in the world and any device.
As you can see the WordPress website is now accessible using the URL
<WEBSITE_NAME>.000webhostapp.com
In my case it is https://sightless-lightning.000webhostapp.com/
