Falling Down

Falling Down is a 1993 action drama starring Michael Douglas as “D-Fens” — a seemingly ordinary man who begins to psychotically and violently spiral out of control when he comes across various issues varying from mundane annoyances to violent assaults. All problems were flaws of American society in 1993, but he does things his way. Robert Duvall is cast as the detective tracking his various violent crimes down, Det. Martin. Rachel Ticotin also stars but the subject I want to highlight here is Vondie Curtis-Hall’s character.

Vondie Curtis-Hall has been around for a good while on the silver screen. The very first time I can recall him was as the Basketball game vendor who recognized Eddie Murphy’s Prince Hakeem in Coming to America (1988). He also was in Die Hard 2 (1990) and Daredevil on Netflix (2015). Overall he has always been the “I know his face” type of actor.
