Confusing CDC Mask Guidelines — To Mask or Not to Mask?

Has the CDC chosen vaccination incentive over statistical pandemic procedure?

“Anyone who is fully vaccinated can participate in indoor and outdoor activities, large or small, without wearing a mask or physical distancing,” Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said this past Thursday. “If you are fully vaccinated, you can start doing the things that you had stopped doing because of the pandemic.”

The COVID-19 vaccines have tremendously helped decelerate the spread of the virus; becoming vaccinated seems like the obvious next step for millions of Americans that have grown to be disenchanted with masks and social distancing.

“We have all longed for this moment when we can get back to some sense of normalcy,” Walensky continued.

Yet, we are far from normal. Many have cheered this announcement as a sort of indication that we may now go back to the way things were — but will everything ever be the same as it once was?

You may take off your mask “except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local businesses and workplace guidance,” as stated by the CDC. This means you still would need…
