Poem

I’ve learned to regulate the urge
to reflexively correct those who make
overt grammar or spelling mistakes,
thus not be seen as a social scourge.

My upbringing set hard and fast
rules regarding the use of language
that’s provided both joy and anguish
in public conversations in the past.
