#HandsOffPalestine Protest, Washington D.C.

“…Watching in fear as Israel begins its same campaign of mass slaughter and carpet bombing. The same campaign that killed over 260 Palestinians last year, including 66 children. Children. Not even a year has passed for us to rebuild our homes and mourn our dead. But Israel continues to lay siege to one of the most densely populated areas in the world.

Israel, who has one of the best defense systems and militaries in the world with missiles and weapons funded by our very own government. Israel a nuclear superpower. And they have the fucking audacity to call us terrorists, to call this a conflict. This is not a conflict. This is a violent system of colonization and occupation.

This is Israel’s cruel and calculated plan of ethnic cleansing. Israel bombed Gaza knowing that their own blockades continue to withhold necessary medical resources, food and water. They bomb Gaza knowing that Palestinians there cannot leave. Israel will stop at nothing in their attempts to wipe the Palestinian people off of the face of the Earth.

But we refuse to. Palestinians deserve to live in safety and security! Palestinians deserve food and clean water. Palestinians deserve to move freely across the land that was stolen from us.

We demand an end to the collective punishment.

We demand an end to the walls and the borders that separate our people from one another.

We demand an end to the blockades that are suffocating the people of Gaza.

We demand an end to our government’s funding of the weapons that are slaughtering our people.

We demand the rights of the Palestinian people to resist the violent occupation and colonization of our homeland by any means necessary. We refuse to watch helplessly at the ethnic cleansing of our people. We will not back down until we see a liberated Palestine in this lifetime.” ~ Speaker representing George Washington Students for Justice in Palestine
