Lately, I have gotten back into urban romance novels. I grew bored with TV years ago, and I am not much of a movie person.

During February, a site featured some urban romance novels for free and that awakened my desire for a good read. Surprisingly, these stories held my attention so much that I could read them in a day or two, which speaks volumes because it takes a lot to keep my attention and for me to crave sitting down to read.

One book in particular is “Take Me To Church” by AshleyNicole. What I liked about this book in comparison to others, including others written by this same author, is that it was what you call a slow-burn romance. The couple took their time getting to know one another and did not rush into sex.

I’m a slow-burn person. I crave dates, intimacy, and love before physical contact. This story gave me that.

I thoroughly enjoyed when the man stood up for his woman on two very crucial occasions. The book made me live in the moment of protection and support from a man.

What was also great were the supporting characters and B-stories to complement the A-stories of the book. The author gave me enough of the supporting cast and stories to understand the comprehensive story…
