A Celebrity’s Death Taught Us a Valuable Lesson About Humans

Which celebrity am I talking about?

I’m talking about none other than Chadwick Boseman — the beloved actor who gained international recognition for playing the character of T’Challa aka the Black Panther.

Chadwick, aged 43, died in August 2020 after fighting a long battle with colon cancer.

Those who knew him had these things to say about him -

Chadwick Boseman was a brilliant and once-in-lifetime talent.

I remember his smile and his gentle way. I remember his unending curiosity and his love of study, studying many things all of the time.

He was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016 which eventually progressed to stage IV by 2020 and took away his life.

What makes him endearing is the fact that he never spoke publicly about his cancer battle. Only a very few people knew what Chadwick was going through.

Not even many of his close friends were aware of his struggles.

During his secret battle with cancer, he continued to work in films despite multiple surgeries and chemotherapy.

During this period, he worked on 7 films including Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom that earned him a posthumous Golden Globe award.

So what lesson did his death teach us?

It taught us what humans are capable of doing if they put their heart and soul into something.

If a man fighting cancer can shoot 7 movies then I’m sure we can win the little battles we fight every day.

“The struggles along the way are only meant to shape you for your purpose.”

— Chadwick Boseman(1977–2020)
