Act-fullness

Decide fast. Act right away.

Don’t make a decision. Instead, just take a decision.

We wake up every morning and we need to make all kind of decisions throughout the day. Some are easy ones like what to wear or what to eat. Other however are rather difficult like whether to accept that offer in the business meeting or take that loan to buy a new car or even break up with your partner or not.

Choices often determine the difficulty level of a decision. Not only how many different choices we have, but also how good they are. However, on crucial matters, risk plays the most important role in decision making.

Sometimes having a lot of choices isn’t a good thing at all. Because instead of picking something, you get stuck on the decision-making process and in the end you may not do anything at all.

Which one is better?

What if something goes wrong?

Am I making the best choice here?

You can’t choose everything. You need to pick one. Forget the limitless choices. Forget the best outcome. Forget about the risk. There is no such thing as “the best” or “the safest” choice. Each and every one decision we take opens the way to new fresh decisions that need to be eventually taken, and those will, in turn, determine the final outcome.

Think fast. Evaluate the pros and cons. Don’t act recklessly of course. But take a quick decision. Find a choice that suits your needs. Find what serves your best interests. Choose it. Forget all other options and alternatives. And now comes the most important part of each decision. The implementation.

You took a decision. Act on it. Do it. Do what needs to be done. Now. Right away. Don’t leave another moment wasted.

Start this today. Use it on everything. Making decisions could last forever. Taking fast decisions just takes a second. See what happens. How this approach affects your results, your feelings, and your productivity. I am certain enough that if you stick to it you are going to see a tremendous difference in the number of things you can accomplish each and every day.

Most people do not reach their goals because they never start.

And guess what! They never start because they cannot decide how to move forward. They cannot decide what to do, or how to do something. They can’t even decide what they actually want. In fact, neither do most of us. Indecisiveness introduces uncertainty, takes away our motivation and makes us miserable.

So, are you going to act? Decide now!

At first, I was also contemplating whether to start writing on Medium or not, with basically zero writing experience. I had to make a decision. A fast one. And I did. Check my first article here.
