Longing

A poem about longing

I won’t make myself wrong
for the longing that I feel

I won’t deny my desire
to feel another’s touch

But past mistakes
treasure of lessons

I’m treading water
with a little more care

So much at stake
our beautiful souls

I won’t ruin
the flowers that shine

Do this thing right
care for our hearts

May I move with the truth
of my being.
