Cold Winter

At work, I spend the last two hours outside. Every Monday through Friday from 4–6.

I spend this time with one of the company’s workers. I help them stay on task as they clean up the yard outside.

The winter hours outside were brutally cold. I stood with layers of clothing on. One work day it hit me. I would have about two months of freezing before it warmed up.

That’s when the days became their shortest. And the days became their coldest.

The Dark Days

The Months of December and January were affected the most by the short days. The earliest sunset was December 9th. The latest sunrise was January 2nd.

The sun went down on the 9th around 4:50 pm. I remember the mental affect it had on myself until 6 rolled around. The air felt much colder. The dark environment seemed less inviting.

Light Ahead

It was the end of January when I first noticed a faint of light when work ended at 6. Every day after that, we left with more and more apparent light.

Eventually, the longer days led to a 6 pm sunset. That’s when it hit me.

With each passing day, small results happened. Even if the sun set only a minute later the next day, it was still a result.

This life lesson affected me. How could I apply this knowledge of small results to other areas of my life? I decided that writing would be one of those areas.

Your Story

The world turns on, each passing day. Each day, is your opportunity to expand life. Small changes will occur as you work on increasing yourself.

Small changes allow for a greater mark of patience. Remind yourself minimal results are ok. They are normal.

It’s the culmination of months that’ll showcase the change eventually. Allow the time to take care of itself. Work now to take care of your time.
