“Nothing diminishes anxiety faster than action”

“Am I seriously sick?”, “Will I found a better job?”, “How to save money for emergencies? ” are all questions that anxiety can bring and, even when things seem right, it can creep through impostor syndrome, sabotaging what we’re trying to build.

Contrast anxiety is possible and meditation can incredibly help to cool off when things start to spin in our heads, creating a habit of invoking calmness just breathing consciously and with the purpose of letting bad things go.

Nevertheless, I found this quote by Walter Anderson (an athlete who lived in early 1900) incredibly correct and powerful.

When we’re anxious for something, we give up control of our doubts and fears, becoming passive and impotent, something that, guess what, fuels anxiety.

So we can break this vicious circle regaining control and the only way to do it is through action!

“Am I seriously sick?” Probably not but let’s take some exams to be sure

“Will I found a better job?” Let’s update the resume, pursue a side project to gain visibility, search actively for new opportunities

“No savings for emergencies?” Start reducing consumption of what is not necessary and save small amounts often.

Can you see how action put us in control again? So, next time you feel anxious about something, ask yourself what you can do to avoid, mitigate or improve and act accordingly.

The rest will come.
