Panic to Peace. A poem of shifting.

Attention. The tension.

The tightness. Relentless.

The sharp intervention of pain.

Eyes blurry. With worry.

Heart racing. Legs pacing.

Arms dangle. Thoughts tangle your brain.

Toes tingle. Tears mingle.

Words worry. Sight blurry.

Flash number of deaths on a screen.

Knees knocking. Fear docking.

Fist clenching. Sweat drenching.

Sleep is an empty routine.

Breaths shallow. See gallows.

Smiles faking. Lies snaking.

The Enemy’s laughter is mean.

Thoughts ponder and wander.

His voice ever stronger.

Comes crashing through every scene.

Lids closing. Soul’s knowing.

Lips moving. Prayer proving.

There’s peace in the middle of pain.

Love calming. Hope dawning.

Fear drowning. Joy crowning.

God once again winning the game.

An actress, playwright and oh…I preach every now and then too. But cleaning other people’s toilets pays the bills…and all this gives me much to say. :)
