Matthew 22: 37–40 Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Most of us exhibit convenient love.

We love our spouses because they are beautiful & attractive.
We love our families, because of the blood connection.
We love our friends, because they are fun to be with.
We love our church members because we belong to the same body of Christ.
We love our neighbors only because they are nice.
We love our colleagues because we have to work together.

Those are easy and convenient love.

How do you love a total stranger?
How do you love when we get no benefits in return?
How do you love those who reject your ideas?
How do you love those who disagree with you?

Think about this: Are we loving the way the good book instructed us?

The world needs more love — reckless love.

Love that knows no bound.
Love that watches out for the needs of others.
Love that goes beyond the benefits we seek to get.
Love that trumps skin color, race, tribes, or social affiliation
Love that reaches out and watches out for the needs of others.

Unconditional love. Sacrificial love.

It’s difficult, I must admit — but that is the greatest commandment — we must comply.
