She sits with the mirror
Half submerged in the pond
The spring rains staining her vision
Moss crawling up her reflection
As her clothes wear away
The longer she stays in the stillness
Looking in the same place for answers
The more she loses herself
Sinking into the mud
As the clarity of the glass is obscured
Metal rusts
Skin thins till the changing leaves are sharp enough to slice it
Twins freeze and crack
Shattering swallowed by the ice
Forgotten with the memory of the cold come spring.
