Herbert George Wells, often referred to as H. G. Wells (September 21, 1866 — August 13, 1946) was a renowned British Scientist, writer, and historian. He was born to Joseph Wells and his mother Sarah Neal in a poor family. At his mother’s workplace, the owner had a library and it was a major attraction for Wells, who was an avid reader and had a chance to read many books from it.

After growing up, Wells earned enormous wealth. He built a huge multi-storied mansion.

One day, a friend visited his house. Wells showed the chambers and rooms one by one. Showing a very decorated and luxurious room, Wells said — “This is my servant’s room.”

On the next floor, showing an ordinary room he said — “I and my family members live here.”

His friend was astonished but didn’t react right away. He walked the entire house in utter confusion why Wells lived in such an ordinary room and had the marvelous room given to the servant. By the time the house tour was over and they came to rest, he no longer could conceal his dubiety to himself.
