The Secret of Success
A poem to ease your mind
When we try to make the big jump to our noble, lofty aim
We ain’t got a hope in Hades to succeed toward our claim.
We clench our fists and off we go like a rocket at the sky
With gritted teeth and a furrowed brow, it’s yet another try.
But like the fly against the glass, we just can’t find the way
And away we go, disappointed, much to our dismay.
We’ve tried to make the quantum leap, and it’s done us little good
Relying on our feelings means we don’t get what we should.
A little nudge is what we need, to get us in the flow
Just a little forward momentum, to get us in the show.
If we tone it down and do a bit, each day toward our goal
It won’t be long before we reach the cravings of our soul.
The secret of success, you know, is not to go so hard
Just a bit each day, along the way, so your progress won’t be marred.
You’ll feel the joy of achieving well the thing you most desire
And you won’t be stressed or pressured up next time you climb up higher.
