the white page

it dawns on me when I see the white
so much space, so much regret
I can’t breathe
I can’t act
hope I feel
the first is written
the tension eases and
the world calls for the witan
don’t eat me up
for what I can’t give you
don’t keep me in
for what I don’t live to
where is the black inside the white
the search seems endless yet so finite
all the truths are found and yet
so many lies fill the empty cabinet
