What is life without taking risks?

The safest risk is the one you didn’t take.

You can’t stop yourself from worrying. You can’t flick off your emotions like a switch. You can’t control where your mind wanders at night, keeping you up with a million uncertainties. You might despise how much you nit-pick over the littlest details, but truth be told, there is nothing wrong with planning out your life and be a touch more organized. There’s nothing wrong with getting on edge about what tomorrow brings and questioning what the future has in store for you.

You’re allowed to worry — but don’t let that hold you back. Don’t allow yourself to cower into your comfort zone, refusing to take risks, refusing to ascertain the gazillion possibilities out there within the world and refusing to take a chance on yourself.

You don’t want your worries to convince you to remain within the same place for the remainder of your life. You don’t want to end up settling for a dull life that doesn’t bring you happiness because you’re petrified of what the world could have in future for you if you changed up your habit, because you are worried things could take a turn for the worse.

The truth is that the future is scary and unpredictable. Even if you continue doing the same thing every day, there’s no assurance it’s going to last. Your life could change in the blink of an eye. That’s why it’s important to chase after your passion. Your passion will make you feel more uplifted and satisfied because it will give you the purpose and determination to work even harder.

You cannot live your life in fear. You aren’t going to end up feeling fulfilled if you’re always sticking to your comfort zone and allow your worries to get in the way of your decision-making process.

You’re entitled to despair about how changes are going to impact you. You’re entitled to run-through various situations in your head. You’re entitled to be apprehensive about experimenting outside of your comfort zone. If you don’t let those worries get in your way and you convince yourself that it’s better to be bold and spunky, you will be fine.

Everything in life that matters requires risk. When you begin dating someone new, there is a risk they could rip your heart apart. But that is the beauty of risks. You will only learn when you take chances in your life.

You cannot avoid risks. You cannot evade them forever. Even when you decided to avoid change, you’re still taking a risk. You’re risking the likelihood that you’re going to one day wake up and be filled with disappointments.

If you’re required to take a risk, regardless of what you do, choose the risk that gets you the most inspired. The risk that makes it all worthwhile in the end.
