3 Reasons Why Having a Backup Plan is The Key to Your Success

“Ya, I already started applying to research programs.”

“Cool”. As I replied to my friend.

Then…the very next day.

“I already got the research position and I’m starting this semester”

That wasn’t the same person. It’s another friend I just saw today. What’s with all of this planning?

Then I stared at my mask on my lap…oh (in surprised Pickachu face). That’s not a bad idea right now. Damn, my friends are on it.

In all honesty, if they did this last year, I would’ve thought they were worrying too much. Now I see why. No matter how much you may think you have everything together, a backup plan is the best way to ensure your success.

Here’s why.

You beat the surprised Pikachu faces that don’t catch on quick enough.

My friends certainly are ahead of me right now.

The reason why they’re choosing to do research in-state this semester is because of…well, you know. They’re staying one step ahead of the game. Meanwhile, people like me are lagging thinking everything is going to go according to plan.
