When I was a kid, I thought service was something you did on the weekends when you had the time. My idea of service was volunteering at an NGO on Sundays to do something nice for others.

But as I grew older, my conception of it has changed. When you look at service as an activity that you carry out, such as helping out at a home or handing out meals to the homeless, it creates a fragmented approach to life.

I don’t really see service as something you do. I see it more of an attitude to build your whole life around. Approaching everything you do in a spirit of service can transform your life and make it much more meaningful and fulfilling.
