Are We Being Lead Away From Supporting The NHS In The Wake Of Covid-19?

From its initial conception, the NHS in England has been one of the most contentious public services, from it being a scapegoat for the ‘immigration problem’ in England, to the management of it and financial cuts, and recently the leave campaign’s ‘£350 million pounds a week’ to be paid to the European Union that was a deciding factor for the majorities leave vote, it has consistently represented a divide in British politics.

During the current pandemic national fervour has been directed almost solely towards the National Healthcare Service and the people who make it work. Every Thursday at eight o’clock any given street in the UK was swept with individuals and households clapping to show their support. The rainbow became a symbol for pride in the NHS and can be found hand drawn in many windows.
