I first want to say that Black History is every day. It is not confined to one month. So, as we wrap up Black History Month I want to highlight some of the amazing authors I have encountered on Age of Awareness. As an author of Age of Awareness I get access to all of the works that are published in AoA. This has led me to come across these black authors whose work has stuck with me and really shaped my perspective(s).
I will try my best to highlight those that I have come across below. I also want to point out that they also have many amazing works in other publications as well. First, the works of Marley K. have been some of the most profound I have read on AoA. Bih is another author you need to check out. Michaella Henry and Lecia Michelle 📃 are two that helped shape my perspectives as an ally. Finally, Johnny Silvercloud is an author and photographer that has many great insights as well. All of these authors have helped guide me over the past year of racial injustices highlighted in our news and I will be turning to their works for a guide in the future.
Obviously there are many more amazing black authors on AoA and on all of Medium but I just wanted to highlight these few that have made an impact on me since joining Medium. I hope you enjoy their works as much as I did and share them with your friends and family.
