Climate Tutorial Quickie
a poem
Alarm alarms soon we caffeinate
Must resurrect or we’re gonna be late
Same old shit for you and me
Ridiculous to think we’d consider the sea
We gas to work for a day full of blahs
Past city streets littered with green cups and straws
Earth and climate seem so far away
But no water for coffee would fuck up our day
No warm water shower to work we’d be late
Red flags that we should consider our fate
If we cannot breathe or have nothing to drink
Far too late we’d have much time to think
I’ll make this quick cause you gotta go:
Oceans on earth are running the show
Our ocean planet is the largest climatemaker
Yet humans polluting with all of our takers
Breathing air is a gift from the sea
Plankton photosynthesize just like giant trees
Oceans create rain, cleaning water and carbon
We’ve gotta stop dumping our crap in this garden
Whales and fish need our protection
Their critical roles require reflection
Phytoplankton eat whale poop to live
Creating oxygen we respire, they give give and give
To thank them we’re destroying their beneficial home
With corporate trash, plastics, spills, styrofoam
Together we’ve gotta protect our foundational pillars
By eating more plants. Decrease killers and drillers.
Understood we’re stressed out- big bills to pay
But no air or water?
Oh that can fuck up our day
In a much bigger way
Sunshines of our Ocean Planet, now is our time to learn and uplift others regarding protecting our ocean planet.
