As our modern cities accept more people, we are becoming “one amongst many.”

I spent my teen years in a small city and then moved to the city of dreams — Mumbai. The city of lakes in the state of Rajasthan was small, beautiful, and had its “small city” charm.

A handful of people — who, when created something unique, would immediately leave a mark on society.

Thanks to technology — We all got the chance to connect with the other 8–9 billion inhabitants on this planet Earth. We got to know each other. We are reading each others’ work and engaging in a meaningful way.

But, with more communication came more exposure, and then came more comparisons.

30-years back in my small town, there were a few cobblers, a few artists, a few musicians, and a few writers. And, they all were good in their individual art. Comparisons were there, but they were…
