It is difficult to describe depression, especially to people who have never experienced it. Many people suffer through it and don’t even realize that it is a mental illness that needs attention. We live in a society that celebrates strength and boldness while being vulnerable is looked down upon. Thus, those who realize having the illness usually keep it to themselves due to the fear of judgment. Because of this, more and more people are suffering in silence in modern times. Although the pandemic has brought much-needed awareness about the issue, a lot of work still needs to be done to bring it to the main stage.
