Your body is precious, yet many people fail to realize that. Habits are essential to your health and can be leveraged for your success. By developing a few good habits, you can tweak your lifestyle in ways your body will thank you.

Here are 5 habits you should develop in order to stay healthy:

1: Drink a few cups of water the second you wake up.

  • Not just are you carrying nutrients into your body, stabilizing body temperature, and balancing body fluids, but you are boosting your skin’s health and possibly improving your mood.

2: Meditate before going to bed.

  • Spend about 10–15 minutes meditating to anything of your choice. This can foster a calm and peaceful setting for you to peacefully transition from meditating to sleeping.

3: Spend some time every day doing your favorite activity, no matter how busy you are.

  • This goes for students especially. Many claim that they cannot allocate enough time to do their favorite activities, but it's up to you to create that time. Even if it’s 10 minutes, you can avoid burnout and look forward to something!

4: Start journaling every day.

  • You can put absolutely anything you want in this journal whether it's what you accomplished that day or what you ate. When you look back in the future, you will be thankful to see what you wrote in the past.

5: Do any form of exercise for at least 30 minutes.

  • This can be a light walk or a long gym session, you choose! Exercise controls weight, prevents diseases, reduces stress, etc…

Developing these habits won’t result in an instantenous change, but these gradual changes will start to set in and benefit you mentally/physically.
