July 17, 2024, marks the fourth anniversary of my decision to leave teaching and pursue self-employment to transform education systems. Over these four years, I’ve embarked on numerous exciting projects and gained a deeper understanding of systems change. After so much learning and doing, I took time to re-orient myself around where I was heading next.

I’ve been grappling with questions about the direction of my personal and professional life, and what I truly want to shape during my lifetime. Over the past year, I’ve felt more reactive, saying “yes” to things I find worth supporting, but I lacked clarity about my “north star” — what am I really working towards?

I am currently participating in a residency program in a co-living community in Portugal that embodies many of the values and visions I strive to bring into the world.

This community is oriented toward work/play/life as a learning, creative, collaborative, iterative growth process. It is a research institute for the creation, connection, and development of new cultures and tools around free expression, connection, and collective organization. We live and work together, guided by intuition and cognition, in harmony with ourselves…
