How AI ‘Personality’ Is Quietly Rewiring Your Brain (And What You Can Do About It)
A simple prompt to even out biases from ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Gemini, and co.
It started with a single sentence, one I’ve now come to dread.
“That’s a really valuable insight.”
I remember exactly where I was: slouched on the couch with my laptop balanced precariously on a pillow, asking ChatGPT for feedback on an idea I was half-proud of, half-suspicious of.
I expected a challenge. A complication. A crack in my logic.
Instead, I got a compliment.
At first, it felt good. The kind of dopamine hit that keeps you typing. I asked another question. This time, about a dead-end project I’d been avoiding. And again, glowing affirmation.
I didn’t think much of it until one afternoon, when it happened again. I asked, “Is this idea actually worth pursuing?” and ChatGPT replied, “You’re definitely onto something.”
But this time, the praise didn’t land.
I wasn’t having a conversation. I was listening to a mirror that only nodded, like a therapist in week one, softly echoing everything I said while I wondered if I was making any sense.
