My daily life is full of Futures Projects. Designing a better world. Better cities and rural areas. And we design them with flows.

4 flows. Materials. Money. People & Information.

Interventions in the flows can have many scales. From small to big and back. Small, local processing often has fewer negative by-effects than big processing in plants. People don’t want those processing plants in their backyards. And rightly so.

It’s our job now to design new normals with little negative by-effects. And that means designing scopes and flows.

Flows can go fast or slow. And we can put things close together or far apart.

Oops, that all sounds very difficult, Desiree.

Can you give us an example? Of course. And I’m very open to questions afterward. Ask me. Start your own project. Do. Have fun!

Woehoe, the future of waste is beautiful…
