Creating Your Own Pattern Using Adobe Illustrator

Knowing how to design a pattern is essential knowledge not only for professional pattern designers but also for us who want to create our own products. You can make fabrics, covers, even clothes with your unique design. Nowadays it is easier to sell your design products on various platforms. So for those who want to do that, I would like to introduce a simple way to create a seamless pattern.

STEP 1: Prepare Pattern Graphics/ Images

First, prepare the graphics or images that you want to make a pattern out of. You can use your own hand drawings then edit in illustrator, design directly in AI, draw in photoshop if you have a tablet PC, iPad, or simply bring up an image. For me, I used my iPad to draw these assets. Export it as a jpeg and send it to your laptop.
