Hustling is too overrated

What the ‘motivation gurus’ will never tell you

I’m sure you’ve heard the so-called ‘motivation gurus’ who keeps blabbering about how you’ve to constantly lose your sleep and forget everything else to achieve something in life.

I’m really pissed off by these people. I think that the whole concept of hustling is nothing more than a dumb piece of shit.

And the worst thing is that almost each and every single one of us is trapped into this idea at such a deep level that it’s almost impossible to look beyond it.

When I say that I don’t believe in this flawed concept, I am not saying that you don’t have to strive for success. You have to work really hard for being successful in life.

But working hard doesn’t mean that you need to completely fuck up your sleep schedule, or you have to give up on every single thing that you hold dear to your heart.

We hear stories about people like Steve Jobs and Elon Musk who hardly took any rest to achieve the things that they wanted in life.

But what we don’t hear are the countless stories of those people who made it to the place they wanted to without losing their health, sleep or family connections.

Sleep well to be successful in life

A good night’s sleep is so underrated. In today’s fast-pacing world, it’s easy to see people missing out on sleep without knowing that it is directly related to productivity.

A good night’s sleep not only makes us feel more active and rejuvenated but also helps our body to stay away from innumerable diseases prevailing in today’s era.

By staying awake for the whole night to fit in the ‘hustling’ world, we, unknowingly, lay the foundation for various chronic diseases like diabetes, heart diseases, and even high blood pressure.

One of the major root causes of these problems is indigestion. As Ayurveda says:

“The food that you cannot digest will begin to digest you”

Due to the lack of sleep, our body is not able to digest our dinner properly which, eventually, leads to these chronic diseases when we reach our 30s.

Now, let’s say that you’ve hustled your way through life, got a million-dollar bank balance, but eventually some kind of cardiovascular disease hits you in your 30s. What are you going to do with that bank balance?

That’s why it is important to not lose the foundation of a better sleep schedule.

Hustling doesn’t mean that you have to suffer

Let’s face it: We all want a beach facing home, the freedom to spend on anything we want in life, and a Tesla in the garage.

With that said, I believe there are two kinds of hustles that exist; the good hustle and the bad hustle.

Bad hustle, to me, is the idea of working for our dreams without caring about anything else in life. Not our family, our health, or even our friends.

But we fail to realise that aiming for something without caring about the necessities of life is like living in a fool’s paradise.

After hearing the innumerable stories and the idea of having a Tesla in our 20s ultimately traps us in the route of bad hustle.

Good hustle, on the other hand, means that it might take us a little more time to achieve our dreams in life, but it won’t come with regrettable consequences.

A good hustle means that you’re taking care of your health, spending time with your family members, and still working hard without waking up till 5 in the morning. Remember:

It’s better to wake up at 5 in the morning, than waking up till 5 in the morning.

And I think that the day you will understand this will be the day you’ll start focusing in the right direction. So hustle hard, but hustle in the right direction.
