I talked to Chat GPT about Deep Adaptation, Decolonisation, Capitalism and Systemic Change
Seems the AI chat-bot “gets it”…
There’s been a lot of hype recently about ChatGPT, a (currently) free chat bot created by OpenAI that looks set to completely change the world — at least until we burn through all our resources and can’t run the servers, or climate change makes our planet unliveable. Assuming we somehow get through those challenges, though, it looks like ChatGPT is a terrifying, and amazing, technology — it’s already allegedly able to pass the bar exam, as well as exams for MBA and medical licenses — and, as people point out, it’s just getting started.
There are obviously a lot of questions to be asked as the full potential of this technology comes to light — why is it free? What happens when it suddenly disappears behind a paywall? And who is the company behind it — and how have they already been using this technology for their own benefit before releasing it into the public? How does AI perpetuate existing biases — what does it say if people listen to AI over the voices of indigenous people and people of colour, for example? Who programmed it, and with what agenda? Not to mention what will happen to all the people whose entire jobs can now be done in the blink of an eye?
