As we age, we come to realise that landing the dream job may be unachievable in this life. However, if we are clear about what truly matters to us, we can still live our dream LIFE. I believe organisations can do a part in this too through restructuring the work people do and good management.
1️⃣ Personal: What do I really want?
Identify what aspects of the dream job made you really want it, this helps us to determine the issues that really matters to us. Then we can have a more achievable goal while ensuring your journey is filled with purpose.
2️⃣ Organisations: What do your people really want?
Help employees fulfil their needs through reskilling and job redesign so that the jobs remain relevant to both employee and organisation needs.
3️⃣ Organisation: Why do we do what we do?
Clearly articulate the value-add of the firm to society, translate fancy jargons to something that the everyday employee can understand. This creates cultural alignment between what the firm seeks to achieve and what the employee wants.
