Only the individual is creative
Only the individual can innovate, change, and improve
A visitor is guided to hell. Near a pot full of food the damned souls with long spoons appear to be undernourished.
In heaven. The same dinner, with the same pot and souls around holding the long spoons, but the difference is that these are well-nourished.
Why? In both worlds it is impossible to bring food to your mouth alone because of the depth of the pot and the length of the spoons. The only difference is that in heaven the souls use the long spoons to feed each other. The difference between hell and heaven is in the values, in the beliefs and in the attitude of those that live there. Nothing else.
The same happens among countries. The ones that have more natural resources and subsoil richness are not the most prosperous. Indeed. The ones with a more developed economy are often those without natural and subsoil richness. Vice versa, the countries with emerging economies or underdeveloped often have natural resources.
The different amplitude and richness of the system of values between countries is the real difference, which causes all the other differences that are apparent in the different development of the economic systems.
The equation between ethics and economy can be expressed as follows: the richer the system of moral values is in a country the richer will be its economy.
Therefore, we assert, and this is the position of our School, that the system of values is the cause and that economy is the effect.
Economy is the physical projection, the mirror of a superior world that is perpendicular to it: the world of causes, ideas and values. If the ideas of a society are amplified, if its system of values rises, if the concept of humanity evolves, economy will improve.
For this reason all the efforts of these decades in trying to work on the effect, such as finding solutions for endemic underdevelopment of the Third World are frustrating and disappointing. Prosperity of a country, as of a man cannot be induced by the outside, by intervening on its economy.
There is no short cut.
Only the change of the system of moral values, more capable of bearing the responsibility of more richness can actually change an economical system or the patrimony of a man.
This is the Individual Revolution, the powerful upheaval, subversion of the way men think and feel, which gave the title to our considerations and that is the condition for the change of an organization, of a nation, of a civilization.
Only the individual is creative, only he can innovate, change, and improve. The change of the mass depends on the change of the Individual, never vice versa.
The history of social organization and economic system evolution is therefore the reflection of Ethos, of the ways a society thinks and feels.
Actually Ethics and Economy, even if it may seem this way, are not opposing dimensions, but faces of the same reality. Economy is distributed Ethics, Ethics is exalted Economy.
