I’m an old white guy, if being on the high side of 60 counts as old. I was raised in white U.S. Midwestern suburbs and, aside from a brief stint in Sacramento way back in the 1970’s, experienced little racial diversity until moving to the Baltimore environs in the mid-1990’s. Out of 1,700 students in my high school, only two were black.
