First off, it is fire season. Long term residents of the state know this. Though, with climate change, the fire season is pretty much annual now. It used to be defined. So it is mostly worst fires, or easier to control fires at this point.

We are also in the midst of a few Red Flag Warnings and the worst wind events in a few years. So what exactly are Tucker Carson and Dave Rubin blaming the fires and the response on? Diversity. This should surprise none. Diversity is code in Right-Wing land, and it is a dangerous code. It is part of the ideology of white supremacy that is pervasive on the right.

They blamed diversity on a lack of good fire fighting response. Oh never mind that California has one of the most effective (and professional) statewide organizations in the country. Also, with all issues with funding, we also have extremely good fire departments in the state, some led by gasp, minorities, and women. I know.

They also made the gobsmacking claim that this diversity is that prevents Pacific Gas and Electric from investing in their failing infrastructure or undergrounding their lines. I guess investor and management bonuses had nothing to do with this. Also, Rubin seems to have a lack of knowledge of what utility serves his backyard. Hint, it is NOT PG&E, we know that territory is…
