Let’s face it — there’s eating local and then there’s EATING LOCAL!

For some, eating local may be as simple as going to the restaurant down the street, because, hey, that’s eating local right?

Well, sort of.

Because when it comes to having food available in your community when the crisis is upon us . .. . eating locally needs to mean a lot more than this.

In a recent interview for Food Abundance Revolution, documentary film-maker Suzanne Crocker dives into this concept of what it means to eat local.

Now she went to an extreme that most of us would never dream of. She emptied her entire home of grocery-store goods and decided to live off only what she could obtain locally for an entire year! A fascinating exercise right?

But here’s the kicker — she and her family live in Dawson City, Yukon. Not exactly the place you would think of first to try an experiment like this.

In putting the concept of eating local food to the test, Suzanne gives us a window into what it truly means to source your food from the area around where you live. This local food experiment is available as her award-winning film “First We Eat”.
