Alone During the Holidays

Sometimes life deals you cards that suck

I spent Christmas Eve staring at the television, seeing nothing. My mind was a million miles away, imagining my friends celebrating Christmas with their families. Family dinners, smaller than usual thanks to the Covid-19 restrictions, but gatherings still filled with love, happiness, and joy.
