When the rope stretches too much, something has to give if you don’t want it to snap.

…Or you can let it snap and welcome a whole new situation and a renewed you.

Being alive is all about pulling, pushing, letting go and knowing when to embrace the totality of you, even the dark parts you don’t really like, or are scared of.

The 22nd of May is World Goth Day; coincidentally, it’s also International Being You Day, something I didn’t know about until Sally Prag invited us to write an essay about what “being you” means to each of us.

As a self-proclaimed Jungian Gothicist, I believe this is a synchronicity that has brought light into my darkness.

If you don’t know what synchronicity is, and not to confuse you too much, it is a manifestation in the physical world of what is going on inside of you.

Basically, when you are going through changes and your brain is processing information, you see patterns of those thoughts in the outside world. They can be translated into hunches that can make you decide to enroll on a certain course, buy a certain item, or even whether you should be in a…
