It’s being here now that’s important. There’s no past and there’s no future. Time is a very misleading thing. All there is ever, is the now. We can gain experience from the past, but we can’t relive it; and we can hope for the future, but we don’t know if there is one — George Harrison.

George Harrison meant a lot to me growing up in the late 60s, and the older I got, the more I appreciated his musical, spiritual, and philanthropic legacy. He was a thoughtful man who sought wisdom. He did not follow the conventional path, worship money, or use psychedelic drugs. Instead, his quest was for a spiritual change.

When I followed the Beatles in the 60s, I viewed George Harrison, like most fans, as the quiet Beatle. The media labeled him quiet during a bout with laryngitis, and it stuck with him. But, he was more soft-spoken than anything.

He was the band member who supported John and Paul. He played lead guitar and was a background singer who'd occasionally sing a solo. Those occasional songs were some of my favorite Beatles hits like "Taxman," "Within You Without You," "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," "Here Comes the Sun," and "Something." So whenever those songs came on the radio, I would give them my undivided attention.
