What it’s like to take your job on a world tour

From San Diego to Spain: My life-changing experience Working From Anywhere

Hiking around a medieval Spanish town before morning meetings

Listen, I’ve spent a lot of time traveling, meeting people, seeing sights, and trying new foods. And let me tell you, there’s nothing quite like the experience of working remotely from a foreign country. After living and working in Spain for the past year, all I have to say is, “Do it if you can!”

First of all, you get to immerse yourself in a new culture. You’re not just a tourist passing through, you’re actually living and working among the locals. You get to learn their language, their traditions, and their way of life. Trust me, there’s no better way to do that than by living and working surrounded by it all.

Immersing myself in the culture of tapas y cerveza

But it’s not just about the cultural experience. Working remotely in a foreign country also gives you the flexibility to explore and travel. When you don’t physically have to be in an office, you can take your work with you wherever you go. Want to spend a few days experiencing Valencia or work from a 5-star hotel in the Swiss Alps? Go for it…I did! Want to explore the 2,300-year-old castle in your puebla before clocking in? It’s all on the table.

Flights are cheap…especially when you travel light.

And let’s not forget about the cost savings. Depending on where you go, you might be able to stretch your budget a lot further than you could back home. And since you’re not tied to a traditional office, you can live wherever you want. Maybe that means a cheap flat in a bustling city or a quiet villa in the countryside. The world is your oyster, as they say.

Watches. Chocolate. Cheese…It’s all Swiss to me.

Now, working remotely isn’t for everyone. It takes a certain level of discipline and self-motivation to make it work. But most of all, it takes the support of an amazing company and dedicated team back at home. The benefits can be life-changing if you’re up for the challenge. My advice is to give it a try. Grab your laptop, pack a bag, and see where the world takes you. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
