The plan was in place for the trip to Spain. Luke demanded he spend the night with her and drive them to the airport at the ungodly 4am arrival time required to catch the flight. Raine tried to argue with him that they could just grab a cab to the airport but he insisted. Sam had found a bed and breakfast near Madrid where they would be spending the two weeks vacation. Sam planned to potentially stay longer depending on how things went with Miguel. Their boss was slightly annoyed about them both being away at the same time so Raine had promised she would do some work while they were there. Raine wanted Luke to come with her but she knew it was still early in their relationship so she decided to leave things well enough alone. Spending two weeks together might be a bit intense for the early stages of their relationship. She also wanted to support her friend in figuring things out with Miguel, especially if his family didn’t make Sam feel welcome. Raine needed to be there to assess the situation and it might result in having to haul a broken-hearted Sam back to Canada if things went sideways.
