Meetings are a common part of our work lives, but they can also be a source of frustration and wasted time. How can we make sure that our meetings are productive, meaningful, and lead to concrete outcomes? And how can we avoid having meetings that are unnecessary, boring, or irrelevant?

In this blog post, I will share some tips on how to end meetings with actions and how to decide if you really need a meeting in the first place.

Ending Meetings with Actions

The value of meetings comes from what we do because of them. We want to end each meeting with clear action steps for people to take, so that we can move forward with our projects and goals.

If you are the facilitator or leader of a meeting, you need to make sure this takes place. Here are a few questions that you can ask to make sure each meeting ends with an action.

What will we do?

This is the most important question. You need to identify the specific action steps that result from the meeting.

For example, “We will create a draft of the report by Friday” or “We will contact the client and confirm the budget by Monday”.
