Recently, I achieved a significant milestone in the delivery of an Agile project that I was working on. This experience made me reflect on how we all should celebrate our achievements when we deliver a significant milestone that unlocks value to the business.

This article is my follow up article on milestones, you can see the first part here: Understanding the Agile Milestone.

In my experience, by celebrating the major achievements, it helps build excitement and boost much needed morale. In this article, I will discuss the often-overlooked importance of celebrating success in projects.

Celebrating milestones boosts motivation and morale

Recognizing and celebrating achievements, no matter how small, can boost team morale. By celebrating, team members can feel valued and appreciated. When we do this, we recognize the major achievement, the value it brings and how important each team players contribution it was to reach it. As a result, this can increase the team’s motivation to keep performing well.
