  1. Good preparation before meetings so that everyone is on the same page and there is no time wasted in briefing and catching up. Use Google Docs or any other application allowing for use by multiple users at the same time.
  2. Prioritise-Prioritise-Prioritise. Do not leave the most difficult task for the end of the professional day. Deal with it as soon as your business day starts. Do not hide away from difficulty, face it and take care of it as soon as you can.
  3. Get rid of frequent meetings and if you need to have them, then keep them short and transparent.
  4. Set deadlines for decisions. If you are not strict with those you will probably waste time searching and postponing decision-making to infinity.
  5. Start your day 10 minutes earlier. Do not show up at the office on the time for a meeting or on time for your business day. Show up earlier to prepare, get your mind in place and get your tasks organised.
  6. Work from Home or work from anywhere you think will enhance your productivity. Create the conditions (appropriate light, decorations, spacious working hub, clean office) that will make you feel more comfortable, more creative and will help you stay focused.
  7. Allow time for yourself to engage in the activities you love and meet with the people you love. Careful planning of your working day will allow for more quality time for yourself and your loved ones.
  8. Admit your mistakes early on. The sooner you acknowledge the mistake the sooner you will find a solution.
  9. Do not hesitate to say “No”. It will free up your time to focus on more important things.
  10. Don’t waste time on making the same decision twice. Take time to devote your attention and your thinking on reaching a decision at first. Put effort into weighing all angles, so that you will not have to revisit the issue in the future.
  11. Prioritise emails-not all emails need replying.
  12. Get a good night’s rest. Good quality sleep can do miracles and can help your brain be ready, efficient and energetic enough to manage another demanding day.
  13. Automate trite tasks like chores and utility micro-tasks. Create to-do lists for chores and automate those so that you do not have to waste any brain power over them.
  14. Turn off Social Media notifications and alerts. Pick the tasks you wish to deal with and concentrate on them.
  15. Reward yourself when you deal with issues that scare you. Show some self-compassion by giving yourself a treat when you have managed to confront tasks that frighten you.
