Hacktoberfest is as always a fascinating event bringing together teams and individuals with a knack for tweaking and tinkering. Organised and run by Digital Ocean in collaboration with Intel and Dev.to it is an event fueled by the power and the dynamics of open-source development methodologies.
The registration process is open throughout October and this means that it is never too late to sign up until October the 31st of course. Hacktoberfest is open to everyone around the globe and you do not need to be a tech-whiz to join! On the contrary, everyone is welcomed: experienced developers, students who have just started to learn to code, companies, tech-classes, groups of friends. There is no limitation in terms of background, skills and levels. You can all contribute to driving growth forward and having a positive impact on open source and the community. Check out the worldwide list of the events organised so that you can find the one that you wish to join.
Once you register you must make four valid pull requests (PRs) between October 1–31 (in any time zone). PRs can be made to any public repo on GitHub and not only the ones with issues labelled Hacktoberfest. You can check the full list featuring all the Projects available on GitHub. Note that any pull request which is spam or it is identified as a behavior, not in line with the project’s code of conduct will immediately make your participation ineligible. Do read carefully the Participation Details and Rules before you begin. The first 70,000 participants who will manage to successfully complete the challenge will be eligible for receiving a prize.
If you are a Hacktoberfest participant and you are looking for a job do not hesitate to check out the Agile Actors Careers Page.
