As we enter the last month of the year, we look back and realize we have kept pretty busy during 2018!

More specifically, late November was a highlight, since we took part in 2 important design and tech events. Here’s a recap of what went down:

#DIGITIZED18

Agile Actors are always present at the annual Digital Design Conference and this year could be no exception. We did not only attend the conference and drew inspiration from the renowned speakers, but we also held our own “UX Design in Agile” sold-out workshop.

Three members of the Agile Actors #xperience team, Alicia Konstantourou, Konstantina Diam and Lampros Tenes, talked about the integration of Agile and UX design and the ways with which a modern UXer can navigate his/her way into the Agile world.

Starting with the deconstruction of the Agile methodology, they moved forward with the meaning of User Experience Design, the set of tools that are on a designer’s disposal and how they can be applied in order to accomplish the business goals at stake. Last but not least, they presented the external factors — mainly strategic and organisational — that a UXer can moderately control.

The goal of this hands-on workshop was to help those who participated feel confident when being part of a Scrum team or interacting from various roles within an organisation applying Agile practices.

GreeceJS #27: Progressive Web Apps & RxJS

The 27th celebration and exploration of the JavaScript programming language that is the GreeceJS meetup took place on Friday, November 30th and featured Dimitris Livas, Managing Partner at Agile Actors.

In a 30-minute presentation with the title “Under the hood of RxJS”, Dimitris attempted to simplify the use of RxJs and the app development process with Subjects, Observables and transformation of observables through piping RxJs operators. Using various examples and a problem-solving approach to the subject, he also talked about how you can build your own RxJs operators that implement synchronous and asynchronous data flow patterns.
