The scrum-ification of personal development: how to do it!

As a tech pro, you have probably heard of Scrum before. In case you haven’t, here is a short but accurate description:
“Scrum is a simple framework for effective team collaboration on complex products.”
What happens when the product in question is… yourself? Then, you can employ a framework that lets you scrum-ify your personal development to achieve the goals that you will set!
Α Scrum Team usually consists of a Product Owner and a Scrum Master. In the case of your scrum-ified Personal Development plan, the Product Owner is yourself and the role of the Scrum Master is assigned to a Coach.
Who is a Coach exactly? He or she is a fellow Agile Actor, with the hands-on seniority required to coach you towards realizing your goals. Keep in mind that your plan is not defined by your Coach, but only by you!
Your coach is going to be there for you in each of the 4 steps of the Agile Methodology of Personal Development:
Step 1: Set a Target/Goal
Step 2: Measure
Step 3: Define Priorities
Step 4: Act
You can start by setting long term, short term or sprint goals.
At Agile Actors, your Personal Development plan is owned and defined 100% by you. As is the case with the Scrum methodology, a sprint goal has a consistent 3-month duration and once completed, useful feedback is given to you by your Coach.
Every two sprints (6 months) an achievement feedback is held, which measures and evaluates your progress against your goals and according to your peer and customer feedbacks. Of course, feedback is not a one-way situation at Agile Actors: you do only receive but also provide continuous feedback to your Coach!
